Circles & Ciphers offers a spectrum of restorative justice workshops to Universities, high schools, and community sites across the country.

PERFORMANCE

Circles & Ciphers performs original spoken word poetry, fused with written and improvisational hip-hop. Upon request, the performance can flow into a peace circle or open mic.

TRAININGS

Circles & Ciphers can serve as a consultant to build out a community/school’s capacity to offer regular restorative justice programming. Past/Current partners include: Yale University, Ohio’s Lucas County Juvenile Court, Notre Dame University, University of Virginia, and more.

RE-ENTRY CIRCLES

There are many reasons someone may have been gone from your community: Incarceration, illness, family tragedy. A reentry circle welcomes a person back “home” with a peace circle populated by participants who have agreed to act as their support system upon return. Together, the circle discusses what the community needs to have this home coming be a success.

HIP HOP PEACE CIRCLES

Do you want to experience Restorative Justice?

Circles & Ciphers offers a range of Hip-Hop Peace Circles, from Restorative Justice 101 to advanced improvisation based Freestyle Circles. We also design site specific circles to meet the needs of classrooms, student groups, and community organizations.  Prior to the event, Circles & Ciphers staff works together with community members, students, and/or faculty. Ex. a classroom-specific circles could explore subtle themes present in assigned literature; while community-specific circles could investigate safe-space as a decolonial act. These workshops can be campus wide or classroom thin.
